Nice run for Oscar. Making the quarters and still counting....
Another of our 2001-ers, along with Harry W, say, and Blu Baker, who are seemingly trying to make a go of it, and aren't quite in the top cohort (of Jack, Anton etc) but not that far off.
Always keep an eye on Oscar watched him as a 16 year old in Surbiton Qualifying, lost to Jack findel-hawkins I think. Looked like he had the potential of a good game but was clearly still growing and needed time to improve physically. The sort of player who I think the UK Pro league helps. Could easily go and lose in ITFs qualifying for several weeks in a row but guaranteed match play is only going to improve his game technically and physically.

Interesting - we might have been there at exactly the same time
I can't remember when exactly (must be in notes somewhere) but I definitely remember seeing Oscar play at Surbiton (on one of the back courts, wearing brand new whites that were SO pristine and white they gave you a headache just to look at them )
And, yes, he looked terribly young. And little boy-ish.
I remember thinking he played quite well, loved coming to the net, which is always attractive to watch.
But he was a complete prima donna the day I was there. Really OTT. Most certainly didn't make the cut to be a little fave
CD, isn't there a French connection re Oscar? His mum is French perhaps?
Er, there may well be, Tennpar, but I'm not aware of it. Arthur Féry is the youngster with clear French connections (both his mum and dad). Oscar's mum may be French, too, but not as far as I know.
