Cam sweating like a cart horse and Aliasime composed. Too many mince pies I think..
Canadians are dominating the dubs now, not looking like we have any answers.

Two top 20 singles players beat the doubles specialists 4&1.

A bit underwelming from our dubs specialists but the No Advantage format is quite significant. No excuses though, just not good enough, the Canadian combo was effective.

Amazingly with USA getting beaten by Germany, we can still win this group.
The dubs though simply not good enough to progress deep into this tournament with Cam off the pace.
Only 41% 2nd serve points win for Joe & Jamie, plus only half the shot winners of Canada in the dubs match.

Not going to lie, Dan should've been playing the dubs, he is clearly the inform player (although maybe he didn't want to)

Agree, Evo looks like the only In form player.. Although that might be harsh on Joe.

If Joe had declared fit and ready, it would be quite a call to play Dan. Still, if thought to be the most likely path to victory then a call that should have been mad. I must admit in this case, if satisfied Joe & Jamie were ready to go, I would have probably gone with them as still likely the more reliable two. But maybe Joe was not truly ready to go for such a match?

Does anyone know how the tie-breakers work in terms of who advances from the group? As everyone has a record of 1-1 two teams will definitely finish with a record of 2-1. Does it go head to head? In which case if Canada beat Germany we're out regardless, or is it decided on matches/sets won? Where a 3-0 win all but guarantees us to advance.

Sorry, don't know.

But if it goes H2H and if on the other hand Germany beat Canada we are through if we beat USA. All 4 teams would be needing to win their tie and hope that the 'right' team win the other tie

If it's matches then sets then games first then at least USA are the current leaders and we put them out with a win. We are currently next, though just a set up on Germany.

1. USA  1-1 4-2 9-5 79-60

2. GB  1-1  3-3  6-6 57-56

3. GER  1-1 3-3 6-7 56-68

4. CAN  1-1 2-4 5-8 60-68

I'm fairly certain that HTH takes precedence. It's on the ATP site, but I'm not at my pc right now.

To be fair, Cam has lost to two top 20 players so hardly a disgrace and I did read that he had covid just before coming out so that could easily have disrupted his preparations/general fitness.

Agreed though that Dan is the man in form - must be serving well as he hasnt faced a break point in either of his 2 singles matches so far.

The GB vs USA match is first on Thusdsyy before the later Germany vs Canada match.

So if indeed H2H counts then we could become Germany supporters.

From the website

A country's position within its group is determined by ties won, then matches won, and then sets and games won percentages unless two or more teams are tied, in which case a head-to-head win takes precedence over matches won.

So yes, head to head takes precedence. Come on Germany

Cam had covid over the break.
