Jan up next for Phoenix will be interesting to see how he plays against a player who in the past has played a lot at a higher level in challenger tournaments.

In the last of the men's matches, Ryan Storrie comes through (just) over Josh Paris, in three

And LL Toby also gets the win over Mike Shaw, in three

Phoenix has always been a huge talent from a very early age. Not being in the national academy does not seem to have affected his results and hes performing better than most, if not all of the age relevant boys. Maybe having an individual programme is better for his development rather than in a group which has more constraints as they cant  individualise everything, unless you are the chosen 1 or 2 there who get special treatment. Also the national academies are not full time as players have to attend local schools which can impact scheduling. As long as hes getting funding from the lta to help him - maybe this is the better way forward.

I am only just getting up to speed with Phoenix, has he been discussed previously on here.....what a talent he looks!  I saw the mini Road to Wimbledon and read a local newspaper that says he was not getting the support of the LTA (this was a few months ago) which has led to a go fund me page.  I take it that has been resolved now?  But why not as part of an Academy?

CD has followed him in the junior section for a while, I think I came to notice middle of last year, and then did well in Junior Nationals? And has progressed from their . He had a nomination for our player of month vote at one point

And Charlie Broom goes onto win in 2 sets, a solid win for him.

A win for Dan Cox too, in three sets

Pleased for him.

He was also in my top 500 potential list (as is Stuart, of course).

He's not a player one always 'warms' to (sorry, Dan) but he's not had it completely easy and it's great to see him having a good run

Turned on to see the last point as Felix plays a corker of a point, on MP, and takes the match in three sets

Mark Whitehouse has put out enough 'pesky'

So there is literally just one non-GB player left in the draw - we are guaranteed 7 out of 8 GB quarter-finalists, and maybe even 8 out of 8 if Dan Little can pull off a little upset.

Should be Dan Little and not Giles Hussey.
