Weeks 3-4 - Australian Open, Men's Main Draw - Melbourne, Australia - Outdoor, Hard (Singles)

2 years ago today, Facebook reminded me, I watched Dan Evans lose to Nishioka on Court 19 from the stand. He has come on leaps and bounds since then - I really hoped he would get the win today, but not to be. Sad face.

Dan's defeat meant that no British player won more than 1 match in the  AO  singles this year.

Yeah, congrats to Jamie D, thats a great win for Shapo.

Made the right career choice , perhaps?!

And the Canadians are having a good event with FAA and Shapo both looking serious contenders

Monfils on now. Only player left in mens singles not to lose a set so far.

Kudos to Rafa, winning in 5 in brutal conditions against Shapo. Going to be hard to stop!

I had a bet on Denis at 12.1.  Sadly I didn't 'cash out'.  I never learn LOL

(Do it in two chunks - cash out one and leave the other on - you sort of get the best of both - mind you, I wasn't even in there at all, it was a good call, JC)

But sounds as though it was quite a testy match - Denis accusing the umpire of 'corruption', all those time rules, etc etc

It looks like a Rafa vs Medvedev final. Rafa loves playing big serves so Berritini is no problem.

First slam since RG 2013 without a first time semifinalist, mens and womens.

So, Berrettini v Nadal and Tsitsipas v Medvedev...

I think Vandy is probably right and a Nadal v Medvedev final looks most likely here

I'm going for Tsitsipas to beat Medvedev
