Re WR 1, Medvedev needed to win the title to take over when the Aus Open 2021 points drop off ( I believe on 21/02 ).
He will probably have a chance for 28/02 after the week beginning 21/02 when Djokovic is due to play ATP 500 Dubai ( and is defending 500 points ) while Medvedev is due to play ATP 500 Acapulco ( and defending nothing ).
Beforehand though there are other points to drop - ATP Cup 2021 points ( Djokovic 140, Medvedev 500 ) plus 45 points for Medvedev from Marselle 2020.
Not allowing for any other points they may add before the Dubai / Acapulco week I believe Medvedev could then overtake Djokovic by at least matching Djokovic's points in that week.
Once the official 31/01 rankings appear I will set out my calculations in the 'Battle for the top' thread in the Andy Murrsy section.
With the 31/01 rankings out I have now posted in the 'Battle for the top' thread to show when Medvedev might take over the WR 1 position.
Note that I now believe that if Medvedev wins the Rotterdam 500 and Djokovic doesn't add any points by then ( he appears to have no existing entries before Dubai at the end of the month), Medvedev will actually take over as WR 1 as soon as 21/02.
Medvedev out of Rotterdam so no number 1 spot this month.

Still very possible right at the end of the month, on 28/02 after the Acapulco / Dubai week. Will now be down to their relative performances if they both play that week though would still be in his hands since the Acapulco title would do it ( currently very strong field ).
Though as I say that's after the Acapulco / Dubai 500s week when both are due to play ( Medvedev in Acapulco, Djokovic in Dubai ). But if Medvedev at least matches Djokovic that week ...
