Weeks 3-4 - Australian Open, Men's Main Draw - Melbourne, Australia - Outdoor, Hard (Singles)

Andy broken 3 times to 1 second set and its one set all.

Think its going to be hard from him here if Im honest.

Reason I fear the worst here is Murray is far too passive merely just returning straight to his opponent and hoping for errors which worked in the first set, but not now that his serve has gone off. The plus side is I think he will get opportunities to break again.

6-1 3-6 *0-1

Basilashvili in front for first time since the first game.

Wow what a break from Murray, mammoth defending to draw errors for 0-40 then 4 Deuces before next break point and some crazy defending gets it!

6-1 3-6 *3-2 Murray.

Needs to keep serve up its all defensive stuff even on his own serve.

Sadly after another mammoth game we are back on serve. Andy needs to change something if Basilashvili finds a gear here he wont win this. Andy looking a bit tired now as well. Last two games have taken its toll

6-1 3-6 3-3*

Sumptuous drop shot from Murray breaks again after more error strewn volleys from Basilashvili. He doesnt like smash shots its fair to say. Murray playing to his opponents weakness here. Smart move maybe if not a bit dangerous.

6-1 3-6 *4-3 Murray

The way they are both playing there will be plenty more breaks here.

Two set points come and go Murrays defending not enough this time, massive massive service game. This could decide the match here I feel. Come on Andy!

6-1 3-6 *5-4

Murray takes it! Again waiting for the errors keeping the balls in play and his opponent obliges. Funny moment when Murray tried to argue with the net cord technology when he thought hed sealed it with an ace

Impressed by how good Andy has been at getting the ball back and into corners. Not looked at the stats but seems very few errors. If Murray starts ripping winners which does seem unlikely then this is his. Bashilashvili has had his rhythm upset but the way Murray plays. Id imagine playing Murray is very annoying, not many players play like him.

6-1 3-6 6-4 0-0*

First point of the set to Murray against serve

Hold each to start with nothing giving thus far. Murray looking fresher than half a set ago. This is a good sign indeed opponent looking a bit gubbed.

6-1 3-6 6-4 1-1* Murray

Thanks for the updates Jaggy. How are the courts playing speed wise? Are they as lightning quick as last year?

Yes Id say so, maybe not quite as fast but certainly quick. Bashilasvili was trying to hit as hard as he could first couple if sets hes attempting to readjust here though. Twists and turns ahead here yet though. So hard to call, probably comes down to Andys serving you feel.

As I speak Murrays first serve desserts him 30-40 first break point of the set down.
