Jay will only pick up 12 ranking points for his two wins in qualifting, so it won't really make any diffference. But he has a great opportunity to win more points and cash here! The last direct acceptance is Aleks Vukic ranked 156, when is the last time the cut was so low?! If Jay wins his first round match against MAJCHRZAK (WR 95) he will most likely face the 7th seed Berankis in the next round who is only ranked 93. I hope that Jay can make some hay.
As shown Jay is down 11 places to WR 196 in the latest rankings, having dropped a net 27 points including particularly a 2020 Australian challenger SF.
With his 12 points here so far live-tennis has him back up 7 places to live 189.
Yes, it would be great to see him progress over the coming months and get into the top 150 for the first time.
Not sure I'd get the hump too much over this one. Majchrzak has just climbed into the top 100 and it looks like a pretty decent fight in the second set at least. Could have been better but could have been a lot worse.

Yep, at least he qualified, and he now has two back to back Challengers in Bangalore, so is acclimatised and ready to go.
