Barrere was in the final the week before last in Quimper, but also lost to Jay Clarke in 3 sets the week that in Forli 3.

Nice to see a challenger match live streamed with the normal higher camera angle that you see on TV coverage of main tour matches rather than the low close up one you see for most challengers (I think its only possible because they're playing in a bigger arena). It's easier to get more of a sense of how someone is hitting the ball compared to the top players on tour. I dont know what other think but Jack's doesn't look like he's hitting the ball that well to me so far from the 10 or so points I've seen - he seems pretty imprecise with many of his shots - maybe a bit rusty after a couple of weeks off?

Bit frustrating from Jack. Played some nice tennis to go 4-1 up and had chances for 5-1 but a couple of loose shots and it went to 4-2. Barrere put Jack under pressure in his service game, but Jack finally came through to go 5-2 up in the final set.

Jack gets it over the line. Enjoyable match played in a good spirit. Would just like Jack to kill it off a bit earlier, as he had a few chances to.

Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Yep, Nix - good level match, elegant tennis from both, good spirit, and nice crowd participation for an early round.

One more win and Jack could be in top 200. Live 201 now.
