Week 6 - ATP Challenger 80 - Cherbourg, France (indoor hard)

In our predictions game, I said 120 for Jack and reckon that will be too low. On average we all said 185, without putting pressure on that will be way too low. Top 100 or close by US, top 100 certainly by end of year if he stays fit.

Indeed, the range for Jack was 120 to 240, from a starting point of 265

Big calls. But I like Jack's big game and if he can stay fit and well this could be a very big year for him. I certainly hope I've underdone it with my WR 140 prediction.

Lol good to see others are thinking the same way as me. I watched the match then went straight to the predictions thread here cos I thought everyone went lower on jack than I now think hell finish - prob partly due to his injury record tho. I then came here to see all the predictions comments I was about to make had already been said! Id agree with Jon Hs predictions here (depending a bit on draws at queens and wimbledon etc).

From I think 15all 3-4 down first set to set point I think Jack hit 6 aces in 7 points on serve and broke (I think to love) in the middle of that. That must have been a satisfying spell for him! He looked throughout like the only thing Marterer could hurt him with was his first serve and jack dominated everywhere else. So much more impressive than first round! Bring on Bonzi! A must watch for me that one! Hope this was his current level rather than just an usually great day at the office

Washing jack now. He just saved several break point to hold. 1 -1

Bit more convincing in his second service game. Sublime angled drop shot on the run to win one of the points.

Why? I can't imagine he's that sweaty yet after only 4 games and I'm sure they have showers there anyway wink

Jack the lad certainly not looking out of place against a top 100 player thus far, has had to save a couple of BPs but currently 2*-3....

Great tie-break.

Shame Jack just got pipped - 7-6(6)

But really good quality and enjoyable

Darn, a great tie break that sadly he lost, having been 3 - 0 up to start with.

Costly netted FH at 5-5 in the breaker which would have given him SP, and some good play from the Frenchman. Frustration showed when he returned to his chair but I hope he doesn't get too down on himself, he's right up there.

Yes, but Bonzi made one similar horrible UE at 4-4

It was one apiece, I made it, in terms of UEs and neither were majorly costly, in that it got back to 6-6

But good play from both all the rest of it.
