Week 6 - ITF M25 - Shrewsbury, UK (indoor hard)

Congrats to Oliver Tarvet (2003) who gets a very good win over Alexis Canter

This is Oliver's first ITF adult event and that's two ranked players he's now beaten

Despite being higher ranked, Toby also joins the group of GB blokes who've lost to the foreign brigade, who are now still batting at 100%

Sean Hodkin put up a good effort, but lost in three.

Jack Gibbens was our last, rather forlorn hope.

So we are still: GB - 0; Peskies - Tons

:(

Absolutely cannot believe that there are THREE byes in a domestic 25k doubles draw.

The guys should be ashamed of themselves

Wild cards to Dan Cox, Henry Patten, Henry Wendelken and Dan Little

Which is pretty much just the next lot on the acceptance list

I think Ali G versus Frantzen is interesting, as Frantzen waltzed through qualies as an unranked player.

Charlie B v Stu P is also interesting domestically .

Of the 24 in doubles draw, 18 are British. It looks like many of the overseas players just played singles - with another event next week, it is surprising more didnt just sign up, Brits or not.

Frantzen beat two pretty lowly ranked players in qualis.

And lost in qualis in most other tournaments.

Ali G will kick his butt.

I'm interested to see how Henry Patten does as he wasn't around in Bath and then got a really tough draw at the next one.

Also, hoping Harry W takes out Martin Damm who was not as impressive as I'd expected and Harry seems to be playing well.

Should be about ten wins by my reckoning.

Nice job, Wolf.

And, yes, you're right, Jon - eight would be more average, it could even all go south and we end up with five :(

But I'm feeling optimistic - and sticking with 10

Mega haul time !

So there's three matches now that I thought would be tight and I was hoping for at least two wins out of...

So far, yes, very tight, but not quite going our way (we could still get anything from zero wins to three)

Felix won the first set 7-5

Henry Patten lost 6-7

And Dan Cox lost 6-7
