Complete contrast to yesterday, the lads are racing through their opening round matches.

As completely expected, Matt Rankin has lost easily to Scott Duncan.

Based on Jon pointing him out, also no surprise that the German was way too strong for Osgar.

Sean has dispatched Sizya with no problem.

Ben seems well on the way to a straight-forward win too.

Really, really pleased that Brandon Murphy has a wildcard into the MD

I think that's one he earned from the UK Pro events in Jan - he won one (beating Ali?), from memory.

But super for him - not the easiest draw, with a German who used to be top-200. But, hey, it's an ITF 25k....

Other wildcards go to Henry Patten, Dan Cox and Harry Wendelken.

Brandon won UKPL2 in early Feb to get the wildcard and good to see!

I am going to go for 7 Brits through to round 2 this week. Hopefully CD is going to raise me on that?!

Nah, I had good vibes for last week, was feeling the 'positive energy', no negative nellies for me.... But this week I'm with you, I'm afraid - Eight is an outside chance. So I'll go for eight if you really want. Just to make it fun. But I think seven is the right pick.

Well with five all Brit ties and Ali and Felix favourites that should be 7 at least. I'll go for 9.
