Well with five all Brit ties and Ali and Felix favourites that should be 7 at least. I'll go for 9.

 Hope you're right!

Just realised there are only 6 mens singles and 6 womens singles on todays schedule, with all first round doubles in the mens due to be played.

I am interested in why different tournies go down different scheduling approaches - part of me thought that there might be a typical starting structure that all events follow eg all 16 first round Tuesday which only gets adjusted by factors like rain delays etc, but clearly they have complete latitude?

Sean has done great to take the second set on a TB, against the 6th seed.

Felix also into a third set against Jon's pesky German

Mark W+ get an easy win in the doubles.

Did anyone see what happened to Felix? Did he get injured? 6-0 in the third after two close sets suggests something must have gone wrong.

Yes, it is very variable, partly no doubt due to how many courts are available.

Here, with the men/women double up the R1 singles ties overall were always extremely likely going to be spread over 2 days but it is obviously a tournament choice to put on so many doubles today and hold back most of the singles until tomorrow.

Not often a GB guy that I've completely never, ever heard of (not in British Tour, from juniors, from anything)

But congrats to Ryan Golesworthy who takes that crown for this week - AND gets a win in dubs with Liam Hignett.

So well done to the two of them. Nice to see wildcards doing well.

AND same goes to Matt Southcombe & Patrick Brady who get a win, 11-9, over Anton Mat. and Josh Paris - last week's winners !

So that's a huge scalp for the youngsters.

Charles Broom and under-ranked German get a win in the doubles, over the second seeds.

Clutch win for Dan Cox and Sean Hodkin, over Ben Jones & Irish Osgar

And another win for one of our juniors as Matt Rankin & Euan McIntosh beat the 3rd seeds

And a win for Scott Duncan & Ewan Moore

However, Oscar and Harry lost

So that's the winners and the runner-up from last week going out in R1.....

But great wins for some of the others

Tomorrow is all singles, the remaining mens and womens singles are all being played, no doubles.
