In the main draw, Jamie and Bruno play Brkic and Cacic; and cam and Tommy Paul play gonzalez and molteni, who themselves are Jamies opponents in todays Rio final.
Cam plays a tough singles opener against Alcaraz, Cam is seeded 6.
That is indeed an extremely tough opener for Cam. Alcaraz is very young and under ranked. I feel that it is likely that he'll be top 10 before the end of the clay court season. Carlos A beat Berretini this week and plays the final in Rio today.
Something that may work in Cam's favour is that Alcaraz will be switching from clay to hard.
L32: (6) Cam Norrie WR 13 vs Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR 29
L32: (6) Cameron Norrie WR 13 Vs (Q) Daniel Altmaier (GER) WR 82
Norrie v. Alcaraz would have been a very interesting matchup. I wonder if winners of tournaments one week have ever played each other in the first round in the following week?

I don't think Cam will be disappointed with the withdrawal of Alcaraz. Interesting stat about Alcaraz on Twitter this morning after his victory in Rio.
