Lloyd just won his doubles match against Zverev, if you are wondering why Im commenting on as such then watch the very end. Zverev is a disgrace. More or less assaulting the umpire with his racket smashing it on the umpires seat stand and dropping F bombs left right and centre.
Zverev seems to be an angry young man. The sooner the tennis bodies take action against him the better. And Im not just referring to tonight either. Tick-tock

Just watched the video - he actually hits the umpires foot on his first swing. Atp need to do something here, it was totally unacceptable.
Just seen Millman injury as well- bizarre. He put his racket behind his back to stop a stray ball, it popped off the frame and into his eye, looked painful and he had to retire.

If Nalbandian can be DQ'd in Queens and if Djoko can be for that ball woman incident, Zverev can be too

I dont even think the tennis bodies have started their investigation into the abuse stuff. The lady concerned says shes not been interviewed yet even though they opened it in October.
and yes. A dislikable character.
That's awful that he's not been investigated.
He's out of control. He was actually physically threatening the umpire. The umpire was very wise to just leave the court.
I hope he gets a lengthy ban for this.

Purely as a sort of sardonic comment, but have the authorities thought about the effects of making someone play until 5 am, then having to do post-match recovery and food, so getting to bed at about 8 am, then trying to sleep during the day in a hotel which is probably noisy and you've got your clock all thrown - have they thought that might make people irritable and narked???
More seriously, Zverez is a pretty nasty (and narcissistic) bit of work (IMHO) and agree with all the comments above.

But just saying....
This thought had crossed my mind. Not condoning the actions but what considerations are put into the welfare of the players by playing through the night? Assuming the ATP has some sort of hearing on this will be interesting to see if it is brought up as mitigating factor.
No one was giving excuses. And it's quite right that he was disqualified. And the discipline committee (or whatever it's called) should look into it and apply sanctions.
We were just saying that the tournament organisers have to look at whether they put in place a system that helped provoke such an unacceptable outburst. Both from Madadman's more altruistic player welfare point of view and mine which was more a tennis self-interest point of view: they have the brand of tennis to protect; if their actions help undermine that by making outbursts and unacceptable bad behaviour more likely, they have helped damage the brand and need to re-think.
It's not an excuse for Zverev at all, but it's a recognition that no man is an island, and the whole context needs to be looked at.
I hope they don't use the late finish as a mitigating factor. People get tired in their jobs/private lives all the time: doctors, firefighters, police officers, new mothers etc. It doesn't excuse poor behaviour like this. We should never try and find excuses for violence for anyone over five years old in my view. Breaking rackets, swearing at yourself, shouting at the almighty is one thing. Hitting the umpires chair with what looked like an attempt to hit his feet, and acting in a physically intimidating manner is quite another.
It will be fine to look at scheduling but that should be completely separate to any sanctions.
Surely people entering Acapulco know that the day is shifted, as the day doesn't start until 6pm when the temperature moderates: it is simply a case of body management; treat it as if you were six time zones away, and then it is like noon.
