Rafa is now 14 wins, 0 losses so far in 2022 - his best ever start to a year. Very tough for Cam.

Well missed all that fun! Fantastic win for Cam, that must be a career best in terms of ranking ? And it looks like it was comfortable as well?

Great result and good luck v Rafa!

Always going to be a tough one but Lloyd and Harri bounced back well from lucky losers.

Dominic Thiem was also still WR 4 when Cam beat him on his way to the Lyon 250 final last May.

Luckily now just got the WR 5 in the final here

Cam is now 10th in the Race. A final win will take him to 7.

More importantly it will also take him to top 10 in the world rankings.

Big match for Cam, arguably as important career wise as IW was. Go Cam!

Great win for Cam. According to Lloyds IG account he has food poisoning and a fever so probably didnt help his cause.

Another week, another final!

SF: (6) Cameron Norrie WR 12 (= CH) defeated (3) Stefanos Tsitipas (GRE) WR 4 (CH=3)
6-4 6-4

Awaits the winner of new world no.1 Danil Medvedev or former world no. 1 Rafa Nadal.

What a great result to wake up to. He's certainly in a fine run of form at the moment.

I am still confused about how the ranking system works. I assume Cam will retain the 1000 IW points from 2021 until October 2022, but if so what happens if he has a good run this year? Can he have two counters for one tournament or is it just the higher one which is counted?

Ive not followed closely but , IMO , it should be date based. Ie points stay on 12 months regardless of timing of tournie changing.

but I dont know if that is what is happening - live rankings dont show 1000 dropping off Cam so imagine he must be keeping them. Would be very harsh to lose them after 6 months or less when others are keeping other points for 2 years!

Nadal took 39 minutes longer to defeat Medvedev 6-3 6-3 in than Norrie did to beat Tsitsipas 6-4 6-4. Interesting........ longer rallies? Also perhaps Nadal's maximum use of permitted serve time and slowness getting up out of chair etc ?

I wonder if that will frustrate Cam ?

I think Nadal will win, its hard not too. but cam has a game based on patience and fitness and will last with him. Itll be long for sure, but Id reckon straight sets. Hope Im wrong !
