Jack plays Michael Mmoh next. Was surprised to see that hes just a qualifyer here and is ranked only 271 currently and that hes already 24 years old. Hes one of those Americans they got a lot of hype and many expected to break through to doing well on the main tour eventually - not sure whether theres been injuries or anything -? Will be an interesting match up for Jack. I looked up a bit more about him and Im also surprised to see learn hes Saudi born. Hadnt realised that. Aidan McHugh took a set from him late last year I recall

Looks like he had a shoulder injury and that might still be hampering his progress?

Jack is rated a very short head tournie favourite now, 30.7 percent chance versus Machac at 30.6 percent, according to Tennis Abstract.

Lets hope he can see that through. On court today around 1120 am.

Jack loses the first set after being a break up and having a couple of break points to regain the break. He's looking a bit weary I think, which is unsurprising.

He might be weary but is fighting back and a break ahead, 5-3, second set

He certainly is! Showing tons of guts to win the second set when he had a break point against him to even it up again.

Wins it 6-2 in the third. He's probably learnt a lot from that match. He looked more tired than usual but he overcame that and came through really well in the end. Well done Jack.

Jack wins 6-2 in the 3rd!

Good spirit between the 2 of them at the end, always nice to see.

Up to WR 153 on live rankings, however there are big points needed to move significantly further up the rankings.

Jack only defending around 45 points until his Queens points come off in June so plenty of scope to move up rankings.

I think Miami qualifying entry cut-off is next week. So might be in with a shout of making the cut?
