Jay loses over 60 of his circa 300 points this next few weeks, will be down around 200 unless he replaces them. Hes rated to reach the final here, so that would be a direct replacement pretty much and a good boost.

Well at the moment it's looking highly unlikely. He had a break in the first set and a point on serve for 5-3 but lost the set in a  breaker and now trails 1-5 in the second.....

Edit - and loses 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 to the man ranked 209 places lower cry

Such a shame. He was looking really solid at 4-2 up in the first set and then had a double fault at 4-3 in the first point of his service game and then started to play really safely, which is what he was doing when he was struggling. This played right into his opponent's hands as he was quite comfortable picking out a decent forehand if it was patted back to him several times in a rally. Then when he broke back Jay seemed to be drained of all his confidence. He needs to be able to coach himself during matches that where a tactic isn't working, he needs to change it up. And that he plays better tennis when he's moving his opponent around and playing more to the lines. It's frustrating to watch as I'm sure it is for him to experience.
