Great effort from Henry but no....

L32: (Q) Henry Patten WR 674 LOST to (3) Rinky Hijikata (AUS) WR 337 7-6(4) 6-7(8) 6-1

That second set TB must have been SO tense....

Yep, the correct score putting it that way would be 1-6 in the third set e.g.Henry losing that close second set.

I hate trying to switch it roound - only doing it for SC, just in case she's watching. And then if I get it wrong, she can get a little wound up, which might be the best medicine smile

What I'm trying to say is the score you did is wrong, as it reads Henry won the second set which he didn't.

Yes, the set Henry won was the first.

So the score is 6-7(4) 7-6 (8) 6-1 if putting the winning score first or 7-6(4) 6-7(8) 1-6 if putting the Btitish score first.

I think poor CD has got confused by trying to adapt.

Personally I nowadays put the winner first just to avoid the either/or when putting a British loser first

Love SC to bits but...I think putting the result in traditional winner first order so the scoreline looks correct and doesnt cause confusion is by far and away the right way to do it!

Not that I do it, of course, so kudos to anyone who makes the effort and contributes scores!

Yes, I understood you, no worries smile

I was just trying to explain why my brain had gone AWOL ... cry

I'll revert to the old way, the way you enter results online - always the winner way round for the score, no matter which name goes first.

And, then, again, SC can take me to task when she comes back

I prefer that too because my addled old brain sees the Brit first and gets all excited thinking they've won, and then sees the LOST afterwards. But like Jon I'm grateful to all of who do the scores, however they're formatted.

If I understand what you mean correctly that is how SC does it. smile

Ok - conversation above seemed to not say that! i was in favour of winner first regardless of nationality, and score therefore showing in the winners favour.

is that what Sc does? Or anyone ? Help!
