I see top seeded Berankis has withdrawn, replaced by a LL. Initially it opens up an opportunity in the top quarter for Ryan, with Escoffier probably rated above him; but for Jack, it probably makes him the favourite in the top half now and possibly for the whole event.
Ali G takes the first set, serving well, playing well.
6-3
Mayot doing a bit of a prima donna sulk, complaining about the noise the kids are making when he serves a double fault but (a) he doesn't complain when he hits a winner and (b) they were barely making any noise anyway.
Just turned on to watch for a bit and wish I hadn't. It had all been going so well, I presume.
But a *2-3 Ad in, Ali misses a sitter of a forehand at the net and then follows up with a UE and a DF to get broken. Think I had better stop watching again.
Very close in the third set. Harold had slightly the upper hand at the start. But Ali buckled down, took a little off the ball. Then Ali broke to go up 4-3, got broken straight back. Broke again, and then served a super game.
Harold spent most of the time in am-dram diatribes against the umpire for all the calls that went against him - nearly all of which, IMO, did not 'go against him' but were simply correct calls that happen to give the point to Gray.
One right at then end was clearly, but clearly, in - right down the line that the camera is pretty much on, so no question (IMO).
Just my opinion, but it's a very common problem with French youngsters who have been very high profile as youngsters.
Well done Ali G making his way in da house towards the top 250 as nature intended
Yes, keep on going my predictions substitute.
Now Ali you might have to sub for Kyle so it would be most helpful if you could get your game in shape ready to rise up to my Kyle prediction of GB #4 if necessary.
Though hopefully Kyle will come storming back im the grass season so you can just be a general super sub.
