Still 37 - 90 mins left, lets get that 40 plus vote if we can! Feels like a month for records to be beaten!

Harriet leads the way on 10
Paul is on 6 (so Im surprised, I voted for Paul) as are the very much shock package for me , Lissey and Liv.

hannah K is in 4th currently

Voting just gets more and more difficult every month due to the increased success of so many players. Normally Jack winning a Challenger would be enough to secure the vote, but we've almost come to expect him to win so it doesn't seem such a big deal any more! Joe and Cam both passed huge milestones but sadly without a tournament win this month it's more a tribute to their performance over the past year rather than an outstanding performance this month. I'd love to vote for Hannah but feel she has time on her side. So that brings it down to Paul for his exceptional performances on the clay in South America or Harriet for her breakthrough week in Miami. I love Harriet but I think the tournament win just gives Paul the edge.

Well - there we have it! 39 votes placed, second highest ever.

Congrats to Harriet Dart on her first PoM title; hard luck to Paul Jubb in 2nd, Lissey and Liv as 3rd and Hannah K in 4th.

Well done to Harriet, probably my #2 this month after Paul so quite happy with that.

Was slightly surprised Harriet hadn't won PoM before. She must just have been in the mix.

The results seemed really bizarre to me (and I say that as a huge fan of Harriet!) but SuperT's explanation above is probably a very good description of how the forum's collective mind must have worked, even if he didn't vote for the winner, so thanks for convincing me that there was some logic to it and the majority of the forum isn't completely mad biggrin

I think this is the first time I've ever voted for Harriet, but I think you can certainly make a case for someone winning a POTM vote after 3 solid back to back wins over proper WTA players, ranked 48, 18 (even if unfortunate circumstances) and 63 (who can beat almost anybody on her day), especially as a 120 odd player (at the time) who'd never previously cracked the top 100 before.

Her average odds in those respective matches were 2.94, 4.15, and 4.02, so a significant underdog in all of them which needs to be taken into account for relativity, plus they were all televised, so more exposure than say Paul, her nearest challenger, who only won one match as an underdog in March (his final at odds of 3.58).

She perhaps did benefit slightly from a maybe slightly more women leaning forum, as has been discussed before, but she was certainly a leading contender heading into the vote, and far from bizarre IMO.

I had Paul and Harriet as my top 2 ( very significant month for both ) so the forum is of very sound collectivev mind  in its top choices

Bahhhhh
