Not often there's a wildcard I've never, ever heard of

So way to go, Raffaello Papajcik

The others are a bit more predictable - Fabio Nestola, Freddie Ridout, Billy Blaydes and Miles Groom - all pretty decent young players.

Dan Little is the Q1 seed.

Mark Whitehouse, Giles Hussey and Henry Patten were above him in the qualis list so they must be in the MD.

The mysterious 18 yo Papajcik has just one junior ITF in his tournament record, a R1 loss in an Edinburgh J5 in 2019.

Some important upsets today.....

Liam Hignett has put out second seed, Julian Cash (backs up my thumbs down on Julian's singles abilities)

Tom Hands got a nice win over Mason Recci.

Also, pleased that Billy Blaydes got a win over Patrick - although Billy will be ranked on Monday, I think, so it's not such an upset

But, even better (coz it's a GB win over a 'pesky'), young Yujiro Onuma (who I rather like) beat his 16th seed and ranked Swiss player.

Miles came very close to beating Jorda (ranked about 1000) too - shame but good effort from the teenager.

 Papajcik has been around on the LTA circuit for years, seen him at various tournaments over the years.

Delighted many of the Brits playing well- had hoped for a win for Ben Jones, sometimes its tough playing a youngster hmm

Apart from maybe Yujiro, all our lads in the GB v Non-GB draws have a decent chance today. Not favourites, but decent chance. Am expecting/hoping for at least two 'surprise' wins.....
