Ryan was winning 6-4, 5-3* and had 5 match points. Then at 6-4, 5-4 30-0 he lost 4 points in a row to go 6-4, 5-5 :(

Ryan certainly has a chance of a good week this week, TA rate him effectively joint title favourite.

Well there is a kiss of death if ever I have seen one.

 Maybe...but not today at least!

Just looking back, Ryan has two previous Challenger finals (no titles) and both are on clay. One also was in Czechia. Both in the past 8 months or so

30 ranking points for reaching the SF here matches the 30 points Ryan earned for reaching the finals of these previous two Challenger 50 events. So this is already his equal highest points tally from one week.

Now showing as live #209, a SF win might get him into the top 200, the title certainly would.

Top 200 would be great and I think Ryan and Paul Jubb also deserve Wimbledon wild cards alongside Jack D and Liam (if the latter 2 fail to get direct entry) with their recent form and improvements. Jay id keep a watching brief on but I think he could play himself in. Maybe. Id leave it their for the British Md wild cards, just those 4 or 5, unless someone does something amazing between now and the big event.

Ryan's SF about to start. If he was to reach the final he would play his doubles partner Evan Furness who has come through as a qualifier.

Lovely win for Ryan against the local opponent and his enthusiastic supporters. Nice to see a decent crowd. I think Ryan had at least one person rooting for him.
