 Good start for JD!

Good news. And also good to note how many of his counters are under ten points - eight atm and one zero point counter - which means almost every tournament win takes him up the rankings.

Jack has dropped the first set 1-6

Didn't see any of it..... anyone any idea if there was a reason (short of the other guy just being better? )

Sub optimal start for JD, he loses the first set 6-1.  I'm pleased to be able to watch the 2nd set though

Come on Jack the lad, this isn't like you! Better 2nd set please.

The Italian is giving Jack the run around. Hardly missing anything, hitting deep and defending well

Zeppieri is indeed playing very well. Not all that far behind Jack in terms of development - 15 days older and ranked 229. And the clay surface is probably a leveller too.

5 DFs in 6 service games from Jack won't help either.

Yes, he looks very at home on clay (Zepp, that is)

And, yes, he is one of the big Italian stable of young adult male players - as you say, identical age to Jack, got to 12 in juniors (Jack got to 7), was on a very similar trajectory until a few months ago when jack has 'break out'

Obviously got quite a crowd on that sideline too
