In fact it looks like Felix did get smoked, based on Bob's post showing the video of the umpires mess up.

Poor Felix. How frustrating. And terrible of his opponent to compound the umpire's error.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the opponent. As said on the other thread, it was four points later that it was queried, in a three set match.

I've umpired WTA and ATP ranked players, including a couple of highly ranked ones. You'd be amazed at how bad some of them are at keeping score and remembering points. As said, the umpire was wrong but mistakes happen and Felix has to follow the score, to pick up the error at the time, as there's nothing you can do when it's long gone and everyone's basically forgotten. (Of course, the opponent may well have known, and effectively cheated by keeping schtum, but I'm just saying you can't assume it).

I'm just going by what Felix said about the opponent smirking at him. But I take your point Felix should have picked it up in real time.

As for the other Felix (M), he has made a strong start and leads *2-1 with a break.

Terrific battling from Felix M. Was a break up, then a break down, but is now back on serve at *4-5

Great effort from Felix on debut. Hope he gets a few more opportunities in the near future.

Caught some of the 1st set. Thought he looked good. Some bits to work on but a lesser draw and he might have got an ATP point. I see he has made it into the Tunisian qualifying list for wb 9th May.
