He finally got on court at about 00.40 and won 3 games in a row from a break down (3-4) to take the 1st set smile, only for Durasovic to win 6 out of 7 games from a break down (*1-4) to nab the 2nd, including a 5-5 game where Jay got to 40-0 on serve but still got broken cry - 6-4 5-7, I probably won't stay awake through the decider!

Edit: Jay holds to love to start the 3rd set then had 2 break points in the following game but Durasovic got back to deuce then won 9 points in a row to break to love then go 40-0 up no - Jay could only get one point back so it's now 6-4 5-7 *1-3

Edit: Jay breaks back for *3-3 smile

Edit: Holds for 4-3* - I was about to write 'typical clay court match' after the earlier twists and turns, then realised I'd been watching them play on a court that's very obviously hard! disbelief

Edit: Playing more aggressively now, Jay breaks and will serve for the match smile *5-3

Jay serving for the match - 40-15 - double fault - 40-30 - unreturnable serve - phew! 6-4 5-7 6-3 smile

A crazy match where all three sets were won by the player who *didn't* break first!

Jay lost the first game and according to Flash Scores the match is now interrupted - rain I presume.

Off and running again. But not too well in Jay's case as he has just suffered the first break of serve.

1-3*

Jay went down 2-5 in the final set but came back to win 6-7(3) 6-3 7-6(4) more than six and a half hours (including at least two rain delays) after the match started. Good crowd at the end too, and Jay looked very happy to come through it!

Thats a good fighting win- he plays unseeded Quiroz from Ecuador in the qf. There are only 2 seeds left in the 9 players still in and one of those, Hijikata , is a round behind still. The other is top seeded Escobedo.

Jay could pull out a good week this week.

Well done Jay, stringing wins together has not been his strong suit recently so let's hope this week can be the start of something!
