The only nation to have 3 players through to the L16 in the singles ( and also the only one to so far have 2 players into the QF of the doubles ) is Great Britain.
Just had my breakfast looking forward to this and Andy is Ill, get well soon Andy. Hope he manages to make it to Rome. Rotten luck, makes Novaks quest a lot easier now for the title youve got to think.

Jeeps what is the issue, do we know?
The story as reported by the Beeb just now. Unfortunately, it doesn't shed any light on the nature of the illness.

Thanks SC - a mystery then!
A mystery no longer - from Stu Fraser:
Andy Murray withdraws from Novak Djokovic match due to food poisoning
Andy Murray's much-anticipated reunion with Novak Djokovic is off after the Briton pulled out of the Madrid Open third round because of food poisoning. With less than two hours before the players were due to walk out on to the court, Murray informed organisers that he was unable to play. Djokovic was warming up in the on-site gym when he was told that he had been given a walkover to the quarter-finals.
It is understood that Murray, 34, did not leave his hotel room at all yesterday because he felt sick. It also did not help that his second-round win against Denis Shapovalov in three sets finished late at 12.34am the night before. "I had a message yesterday from Andy that he was not feeling well," Feliciano López, the tournament director, said. "He had food poisoning. It sounds like he is feeling better this morning, but is still not well enough to go on the court."
The news came as a bitter blow to spectators who were already queuing up outside the Caja Mágica. One Murray fan had arrived on Thursday morning from Edinburgh after making a last-minute decision on Wednesday to travel here and watch the match in person.
This was due to be the 37th edition of one of tennis's great rivalries. Murray and Djokovic had not played each other for five years since the 2017 Qatar Open final, a match which Djokovic narrowly won in three sets to extend his lead in the head-to-head record to 25-11. It is unclear whether Murray will compete in next week's Italian Open. As it stands, he has secured entry to the qualifying draw, which starts on Saturday, and has until Friday night to make a decision on whether he wishes his name to be in the hat.
Despite Murray's withdrawal, this was still an encouraging tournament after his four-week training block with Ivan Lendl in Florida. His movement looked particularly sharp during his victories against Shapovalov and Dominic Thiem and he is projected to move up ten spots to No 68 in next week's world rankings.
