Week 18 - ATP 1000 - Madrid, Spain (outdoor clay)

It was a top effort, gutted for him. Just a few too many errors at crucial stages and Rublev's experience showed but I've every confidence that he'll learn from it.

That should be an interesting match; at least one goes through!

Neal will be a happy boy tonight!  smile  Liverpool for the quadruple!

P.S.  I'm not a Liverpudlian, but I happen to like Jürgen Klopp.

I'm watching the score from Andy vs Shapo with some (happy) incredulity!

Shapo of course is coached by Jamie Delgado now. Not sure how their partnership is perceived, Shapo hasnt actually done that well since they joined up forces, sadly.

So it looks like Andy fairly rattled through the first set, winning it 6-1. Good stuff.

The end of the road for Andy in Madrid?

I just hope that it's a good match. It'll be interesting to see what Muzzah's level is compared to Nojo's.

Thought that Andy played and moved really well. I much prefer it when he's aggressive as he was today. I guess he had to meet Novac at some point!!

Lendl made him aggressive last time he coached him. Lets hope hes working the same magic.

Djoko isnt back to full fitness yet. Andy can win this - but Ill back Djoko in 3, sadly

Can't see Novak being troubled to be honest. I will go for Novak to win with 10 or less games conceded.

Im not going to be quite as negative as say Novak in 3 sets. Andy played some sensational stuff there and seems to have found a lot of confidence on the clay here. It will certainly be very interesting. Great to see him into the 60s ranking wise that should put away the wild card fairies.

Yes, forgot that Re ranking. Lendl really does make a difference I feel, Andy listens to him it seems.
