I just hope that it's a good match. It'll be interesting to see what Muzzah's level is compared to Nojo's.

I'm not sure if I can see him beating Novak but I think he'd probably see it as progress if he can make a match of it. He's certainly improved considerably since coming back from injury and there were certainly flashes of peak Andy. It's really good to see him enjoying his tennis so much.

Stopped following this at 1 set all, so a really good surprise to wake up to this morning. Andy never ceases to amaze.

Im not going to be quite as negative as say Novak in 3 sets. Andy played some sensational stuff there and seems to have found a lot of confidence on the clay here. It will certainly be very interesting. Great to see him into the 60s ranking wise that should put away the wild card fairies.

It will put aside the need for wild cards to enter tournaments based on ranking points but not if its a late decision made after cut off.

Evo takes the opening set 6-3 2-1 in second set.

Would be a good result to beat RBA in Madrid!

Thats not the point I was making, more that as his ranking rises, and it likely will given his race position then these arguments disappear. I think we will find he will have a more settled plan for the grass and hard courts that follow in the autumn and no doubt a back up plan. We wont have seen the last of Andy going up the rankings even though thats not a priority. Top 50 maybe even 32 might just be attainable given his ranking.

I come back from a busy day to see that both Jack and Dan have won!  I know that Madrid has altitude and that there is more snow in Madrid than in London but Spain has seen damp weather these last couple of weeks just as Munich has. Fast conditions in Monte Carlo didn't help Dan. I wonder what odds we'd have had for them both winning in straight sets!

Weeks ?  More like months. wink

1st May today and it has been raining here again.  My forecast for this week ?

  • Monday - Rain
  • Tuesday - Rain
  • Wednesday - Rain
  • Thursday - Rain
  • Friday - Sunny intervals

Never known a year like it in my 20+ years over here.

Good for yellow poncho sales in Villarreal.
