Week 18 - ITF M25 - Nottingham, UK (outdoor hard)

There's an irritating familiarity here - Leandor lost the first set against Dan and Giles, before then taking the second and then the third....

Didn't last long though.  3-3*

Two stunning returns from Riedi off decent 1st serves to get the break back.

Stuart and Billy in a TB.

After Stuart's early break, Billy broke back in game 9, Stuart broke again in game 11, and Billy broke back again in game 12.

Stuart takes the first set 7-6(7)

Billy had 4 SPs in all during the TB, 3 from 6-3* and another at 7-6*, but Stuart took it on his first SP.

Blinkin close between the two of them

Billy has just about managed to take the second set now (Stu will be cross with how he got broken at the end)

So it's into a third.....

I think Jans real level isnt told by a zero ranking though , and it is that which the need for the wildcard was predicated on!

Over 3 hours and Stuart breaks for *5-3 in the third and will serve for a place in the final.

That was a good match

Nice spirit. Decent tennis.

Well done to both

But it's my Frenchie lad who comes through in the end - do hope he's got some legs left for the final tomorrow - his last two matches have been monsters

With my sincere apologies to Billy - GET IN THERE STUART.

Come to think of it, he just did, assuming we are talking about the Top 500

What a wonderful tie-break

12-10 !!!!

To Stu-boy

NB He lost the first set 1-6

Leandro is convinced there was a bad call against him - he's kicking off - to be honest, I saw Stu's ball in - but them I'm biased and didn't have my glasses on - apart from that, I swear it was in !

So, into a third
