So, Dan Cox beats Charlie Broom. Charlie will no doubt be in the WC PO now. Dan isn't on tomorrows Ilkley schedule and is next due to play at Ilkley on Thursday. So he wont be able to make the WC PO.
They dont have to do this, but surely the LTA will recognise that he is missing the WCPO due to his success - he has had a very good grass court season so far, 2nd most wins. Surely, he will get a QWC (one of the two left to award) as a result of todays win and not being able to play - he would be hard done by not to, surely

Yes, but as people have said, that's exactly what happened to Sam Murray
And I also remember overhearing Jeremy Bates commenting to one of the LTA guys about the 'outrage' of her not getting one, 'well, what do you expect, she's 29, for goodness sake' (or words to that effect) - AND he had her age wrong by a year - but his point was, she's way too old, that's not what wildcards are for
However, there has been a bit of an ethos change there (and thank God for that) so Dan has more chance than he would have had 5 years ago - but if he loses easily on Thursday, then I don't think he's a slamdunk

Yeah, I saw the other comments. And understand it. But I think it is disingenuous to put up two LTA events against each other and then penalise someone for doing well, even if they have shown before they dont care. Dan cant help his age, has now won 6 grass court matches this season, beat Charlie Broom just now, broke top 500 last week and is clearly on form. Hopefully you are right and there is an ethos change. If it comes down to beating Rodionov or Jar Jar Binks then so be it.
Oh, I think everyone agrees with you - that wasn't the point of my post - what you say about 'justice' is right but the question was whether he will get one in fact - but it'll all be clear soon
Aren't there 9 QDWCs, No Anton sadly but in fairness he hasn't set the grass season alight. I do pity whoever draws him in the playoffs though. Might put a bet on him doing a Willis

Yes, 9 QWCs. 5 have been allocated, 2 are for the WC play-offs and 2 others are as yet unallocated.
