Dan is doing really welll to be 3-0 up third set. Would be a really solid win if he gets this in 3 sets

What a wonderful match !

Our Evo - the great clay court serve and volleyer !

And those two dropshot, bring the guy in, then pass him with backhands down the line - wowzer - especially that second one - inch perfect and played at full throttle

Just fab

Great birthday present for Dan! Age matching ranking today wink

Mikael Ymer or James Duckworth in R2, looks decent.

I see that Freddie Nielsen is one of Ymer's two coaches.

Excellent, well done Dan. Ymer is talented but Dan is also talented and experienced. He will thrive on this and win this next match for sure

The third set went to a tie-break, which Rune won by 7-4, so that's the 14th seed dumped out.  I see from bet356 that his full name is Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune.  Quite a mouthul!

He is a right old Nodskov, you could say!

Whew! The atmosphere on court for Tsonga. The crowd are singing La Marseillaise.

Emotional scenes on Chatrier.

Tsonga broke to then serve to level the match at 2 sets all. After the change of ends, something happened (to his shoulder) and he could barely serve or hit a ball so Ruud breaks back to take the 4th set to a tiebreak. Takes a MTO and gets treatment but all power gone and Ruud just needed to keep the ball in to win.

A sad end for Tsonga after a lovely match and an end to his career. Best wishes to him.

Cam was a break down early in that third set.

Sadly, he couldn't:  Zverev won in five (2-6 4-6 6-1 6-2 7-5).  cry
