How wrong I was!

I was with you - I thought once it went to an inside hard court, that was Hoang's match - but no biggrin

Worth remembering too that Hoang was a top-100 player (just) and is still pretty young.

He's not your 'regular' 230 journeyman guy

Really pleased for Mark - he was on top in that first set and I thought he'd lost it once he let that slip

I quite like seeing a couple of all Brits matches to be honest, should be interesting. Jack and Ali hot favourites I would guess

Ramanathan gets the LL slot and arguably the easier of the Q/LL spots.
Dont hold out much hope for Billy, Mark has more of a chance but as JonH says Ali clear favourite.

Hoping the weather tomorrow is better than today! Aiming to catch as much of the GB action as I can - particularly looking forward to seeing Draper live for the first time.

Yes, particularly on grass, Mark could well have a chance of an upset.

We know Jack D is a good grass court player, whereas Billy is much better on clay etc, so don't hold out much hope in that one of an upset.

Mark W equitted himself well in the Qualies on grass and showed he can play grass - Ali G, I don't know what his grass pedigree is like, tbh, but I think he can handle faster surfaces fine. Mark comes in with grass court practice though and it could well make it close.

They played once a few weeks back on the outdoor hardcourts in Nottingham, Ali won 7-6 6-1. I am going to say he will win again, but it might be 3 sets this time.

Worth noting Jay is a set up on Liam, went largely un noticed yesterday. Liam has had a poorish run after doing well to nearly crash the top 100, he is back down in the mid 140's. Both of them could use this win for their confidence and it will be interesting to see where it ends up (Liam is 2-0 career h2h, but both are on hard in 2018)

Ryan will have his work cut out against Mannarino - he has several Last 16 showing in Wimbledon and also won his only ATP title at Rosmalen a couple of years back (2019) and a RU at ATP250 Antalya on grass;

Similarly, Paul Jubb against Kukushkin (Russian born, Kazakhstani) is tough for Paul, Kukushkin was last 16 at Wimbledon in 2019.

With Andy through, I think we will see Jack D, Ali G and Jay join him in the last 16.

People who attend live are duty bound to put match reports on here afterwards wink

Have a great couple of days and let's hope the sun shines.

Have a good time, all those who are there today.
My ponderings about going didn't lead to anything, partly because of weather forecast and partly because other things cropped up. Maybe next year - I must plan earlier!

Liam levels at one set all vs Jay. One break of serve has sufficed in each set.

4-6 6-3
