Fabulous win for Paul also. Ryan and Paul have done really well and translate their form to grass

Great wins. Have to say Mannarino did not look fit at all but we will take it!

Liam and Kudla are 1-2 head to head, Kudla won a 3 setter 7-6 final set in Nottingham Challenger this time last year.

Mannarino can just go rather missing on occasions. I think James Ward benefitted in the past from this. Still a great win for Ryan's cv.

Paul may be in with a chance of a place in the quarters after the Finnish qualifier, Virtanen, dumped out Kokkinakis (9) in straight sets:

L16:  (Q) Otto Virtanen (FIN) WR 375 (CH = 354 in April) vs (WC) Paul Jubb WR 232

Great day today despite the rain break.
On the mens side I thought that Liam stepped up well after an even few games on the resumption from Monday. He looked much more confident and trying to attack and deserved the win. The crowd were probably marginally behind him rather than Jay but overall a good match to watch.

I then saw a bit of Ali v Mark (after Harriet, mentioned on the womens thread) - Ali looked just too good, was serving well and a comfortable winner.

Went back to centre where Ryan had lost the first set but was 4-1 up in the second. Must say, I was really impressed with Ryan. Played well and was always trying to take the game to Mannarino. Admittedly he wasnt playing at his best but Ryan took full advantage and deserved to win. Mannarino looked thoroughly hacked off when I saw him leaving whilst waiting for my Uber!

Only watched the start of Billy/Jack but Billy looked nervous and Jack got off to a flier and he ended up with a comfortable win.

Back tomorrow for day 2 - given today, should be fun!

I've often said if I could have a superpower it would be to be able to be in two places at once!

Some excellent men's matches today. PHH and Duckworth was brill. Enjoyed Max Purcell's thinking game against Querry. Was annoyed Kozlov won (don't like the man) but he did deserve to win, unfortunately, and gave the crowd some entertainment too. Kudla and Popyrin had some amazing moments too. And young gun Nakashima had a great struggle.

For the Brits, I only saw a little of Paul but he's an elegant player and was really pleased he won.

With excellent wins from Paul and Ryan today, that's got to be a big help to their MD Wimbly wildcard campaigns.
