Thanks, brittak.  Some interesting insights.  Just thought I'd point out that Andy's match is currently available on the Red Button.  Sounds as windy there as it is where I am in North London!  What a ghastly coloured shirt Nakashima's wearing. vomit.gif  Andy currently *4-3 in the first set.

First set in the bag by 6-4.

Thanks SC. Just got back from a walk so will tune in now (needed to spend some family time having had 2 days at the tennis!)

I just hope they keep the coverage going for Ryan's QF.    That said, my computer's telling me that there's rain on the way!  cry

No such luck!  It's footie (men's U21 Euro 2023 qualifer, Czech Republic vs England)!  cry  Normally, I'd be happy to watch that, but not instead of grass court tennis!

Thanks, Jaggy.  I happen not to be one of those who own a smart TV, but I've found it on my laptop, which at least has a 17" screen.  smile

Ryan dominated the first set tie-break,taking it by 7-1.    Hadn't realised he was a leftie.

Heading for a tie break to decide this, Ryan did well to break back given hes not winning much of his opponents serve.

Double fault from Ryan and Virtanen aces out.

Dont think Ryan will get a better chance than that, from watching him Id say hes exactly at his ranking potential perhaps. Missed opportunity for sure.

Nip & tuck in the second tie-break, with Ryan serving a double fault to hand the Finn match point & he promptly served an ace!  Virtanen looks a pretty handy player & arguably one to watch.  So, not for the first time, Andy is the last Brit standing in any given tournament. hmm

Dang. So close, but good week for Ryan.

Virtanen looks like he can play on grass, beat Copil in qualies and then Kokk, Jubby and Ryan.

Kudla will be tricky in the semis. Depends if Andy is now match tight , could be a 3 setter
