Yes a nice tidy win for Mark. Perhaps hes been reading last weeks Heraklion thread about how he will never make the top 500 and trying to prove everybody wrong.

Good stuff!

Very nice win. With his recent results Mark is now showing as live #650.

He picks up two ranking points (& 660 euros (*)) for that win.  Not sure how much good they'll do.

(*) Isn't it about time Activeboard supported the euro symbol?  furious

Gosh just noticed that Ive become a pro player today with over 1000 posts. Not sure how that happened especially as I have had quite a long sabbatical and only just started posting again in the last week or so.
The start of the grass court season has really whet my appetite again and hopefully I will be able to post some updates from my Surbiton visits this week - really hoping that some Brits will manage to stay in to cheer on!!!!

Good effort from Toby - some nice tennis - but a big ask.....

(It's marked now as 7-5 but the scoreboard had 6-4 at the end - maybe the scoreboard was malfunctioning)

Watched most of this Toby played really well against a top 200 player. The score doesnt seem right but Ive forgotten what it was now! They had issues with the connection to the iPad during the first game. Which they were still fixing while William & Billy were waiting for the umpire to do the toss. Why they didnt fix it before calling the players for the 2nd match!

Will be interested to see how Toby does in the grass ITFs if he plays. On that performance I reckon he could do well.

QR1:  (q6) Antoine Hoang (FRA) WR 236 defeated (ALT) Giles Hussey WR 720 by 7-6(1) 6-4

A creditable effort by Giles, who "out-aced" the Frenchman by 5 to 1.

*****

FQR:  (q6) Antoine Hoang (FRA) WR 236 vs (ALT) Mark Whitehouse WR 725

So, three Brits in the FQR:  Billy, Aidan & Mark.

And so Jamie Murray is playing doubles here, with Polasek

Broom and McHugh have a wildcard

As do Patten and Cash

Liam & Jay play Ali G & Ryan

Tabilo withdrawn, Kokk moved into his slot as 9th seed and makes Jubbs draw harder- kukushkin is tough, Kokk is tougher.

Good news is there is a lucky loser slot up for grabs.

However the top two ranked losers will go into a draw for it as far as Im aware. And none of the Brits have a chance to be a top 2 ranked loser.

Looks like the BBC having technical issues with their coverage. ATP website stream working fine.

Can't be too bad - there seems to be people still out on the practice courts
