Very straightforward for Andy today - wins 6-2, 6-1.

Always in control and looked sharp. One of the least stressful matches Ive seen him play!

L32:  (1) Andy Murray WR 67 defeated Jurij Rodionov (AUT) WR 125 by 2 & 1

Andy understandably a wee bit rusty, but showed more than a few glimpses of his old self.  smile

The rain had started where I am during Rodinovs last service game. I was just hoping Andy could get it done before it reached Surbiton so he gets the extra day off that a Monday start affords.

Great to see a bit of Andy live

So good to have a quick match, pleased the crowd, gets the day off now, didn't look like he really wanted to run down every ball but the grass was still a bit slippery and he didn't need to, so why bother....

Aidan never looked as though he'd win. Mark W should have wrapped up the first set when he was a break up but let the Frenchman back in.

Max Purcell against Jung was an excellent match - such a thinking person's tennis from the two of them.

And PHH gave a masterclass in the first set of how grass court tennis should be played. Just amazing.

(Didn't get to see Billy as didn't have centre court tickets - but, yes, still managed to see 20 mins of Andy - sneaky, huh? But really pleased he won, and you could hear the crowd cheering for him from the other end of the club)

Anyone know if 175 is Billys biggest ranking scalp?

I think so - it's the first time he has beaten a player in the top 200. smile (at least I believe so, and nobody has contradicted it on Twitter in the last few hours!)

Im confused by this from Coup Droit -

It says that Centre Court tickets were only available from 1st June and before that I thought you could only buy a ground pass, which is what I have for tomorrow. Did I miss seeing tickets for centre court pre 1 June and presumably now I cant get into that court tomorrow either.

Goldfish - I might have been a complete and utter eejit !!!!

I honestly thought there were two sets of tickets for yesterday - and there was a woman at the bottom of the centre court entry looking at people's phones when I went past so that 'confirmed' it for me.

But it was well possible that she was looking at something else and just monitoring people going in regarding only going in at change of ends.

It made no difference, I don't really like centre court, as you're stuck on one match, and I like to float.

But I do feel an eejit biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Have a great day.

The weather forecast I see is on the edge - dry for Surbiton but a lot of rain for London - fingers crossed.
