Week 23 - ATP Challenger 125 - Rothesay Open - Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)

Current player main draw & qualies entry lists courtesy of Darts.  Liam & Jay are in the MD by right, while Ryan is the first alternate, so presumably a prime candidate for one of the three wild cards, & Paul Jubb the eighth.  Both also currently feature in the qualies list along with Alastair Gray, Aidan & Billy, while Anton, Felix Gill, Charlie Broom, JPJ & Stuart Parker are listed as alternates.

Dan is in by way of wildcard and will be top seed so that only leaves two MD wildcards left.

Anton & Felix now definitely in qualies.

Ryan, deservedly, is now in the main draw, while Paul, Ali & Aidan are second, 15th & 19th alternates respectively.  All the latter three are definitely in qualies , along with Billy, Felix, Charlie, Stuart, Oscar & Mark.  Doubles entrants include Jonny O & Ken S, Julian & Henry & Ali & Ryan.

Draw has been completely re done as Paul and Ali are moved into the main draw. Good stuff - although why do the draw, then move the players and then re do the draw? Waste of time!

Paul plays Jay in the first round, Ryan plays Vesely, 2nd seed. Ali plays Verdasco!

Real shame that the quali draw didn't get re-jigged for Arthur and Dan Cox but nice to see new GB names now in the qualis draw

Dan has a total of 161 points due off this week (a large chunk from pre-covid) so could do with a good run this week. A seeding place for Wimbledon looks in jeopardy.

At the moment, Aidan and Billy are due to play alts who havent been named. At this stage, how do they fill those- 2 from the doubles draw? Or highest ranked players entered not playing ? Or do they need to be onsite? Or could anyone rock up and take a vacant place?

Rain forecast all day in Birmingham,  wouldn't hold out any hope for outdoor play today.
