I really was not expecting Liam to turn that around. Lets hope he can continue!

At last a Brit gets the better of the pesky Finnish serial Brit-basher!

L16:  Liam Broady WR 144 defeated (Q) Otto Virtanen (FIN) WR 306 by 2-6 7-5 6-2smile

So that's 3 GB men (possibly 4, if Jay pulls off an upset) into the quarters.  Great stuff.

And means for now, an all GB semi-final line up is still on!! biggrin

I like Dan says it as he sees it ( not that I always agree with him! ) Rather than pat answers or just going along with some theory.

I do think grass on front of a home crowd inspires each individual a whole lot more than what anyone else is doing which should be minimal effect at best ( though home wins may put the crowd in a good mood ).

It would actually be a bit of an issue if they need particular other players doing well as a motivation.

I like Dan's interviews also, he really seems very grounded (in his own way) and doesn't perform for the  interviewer/audience it seems to me.  His tweets used to reveal some of his 'stronger' opinions but, perhaps fortunately, he doesn't seem to  make those these days.

I watched bits of Jay's match. There were plenty of breaks of serve, but the overall quality wasn't that great.  Jay served 7 DFs.

All of the mens matches are on the second court tomorrow and the womens on centre. I understand the womens is the full tour event and bigger, but if I was a fan with tickets and realised I was missing out on the Brits in the mens, Id be disappointed there wasnt a split of matches on the centre court.

Probably controversial but..:

The order of play on the ATP website shows Dan as fourth match on Court 1, but is noted as a possible court change, so quite probable that the match could be switched to Centre.

Which be something - I dont know if the BBC feed shows court one, but with the players left , Id have gone for the Sakkari and Dart matches plus the Broady/Sock and Evo matches on centre court as the most attractive to the spectators and tv viewers. Tennis needs to sell itself in a crowded market place

Agreed, thats me watching none of the stream today, whilst Id have tuned in all day if theyd shown some of the decent mens matches.

The men's matches can be watched via the ATP website. Bonus is no commentary!

The ATP site streaming for the men's matches is very decent - as said, perfect to have no commentary - decent quality picture, reasonable camera angle ....
