Really hard to get over the line - several match points came and went as Gaio played tight tennis, coming forward..... But Dan hung in well, a couple of excellent serves from the deuce side, and suddenly a complete rush of blood to the head by Gaio who abandoned all the tactics that were winning him points and went for a complete wild swing on a second serve - and missed

Brilliant match, Dan

Fabulous, makes it Dan x 2 in the last 16.

Great result. Makes him LR 503!

Close, but no cigar as they say.  One more win would do it.  Come on Dan.

Ive picked him for most grass court events wins. Reckon he will get a couple in the Wild Card Play offs as well.

This is Dan Cox, SC - as the next contender for the top 500 (he's right on the cusp after today's win)

And Bob and Jaggy have a gentleman's wager as to which will happen first: (1) 20 GB men in the top 500 (Bob), or (2) 10 GB men in the top 250 (Jaggy)

It's got legs, this bet...... smile

But is quite good fun, especially as it's all to the good - i.e. based on LOTS of GB players doing well....

My point was that there's at least one word missing from Indy's comment.

Yes, I know but that's hardly a big thing, if you understand the context, as per the explanation.

Great tenacity from Ryan

The match hasn't been very long, given there's been two TB sets - hardly many rallies

But he got pipped at the post in the first TB and then did really well to take it to another and come through that one

So it's into a third.......

Well done to Liam - Lestienne is pretty obnoxious on the court - goes in for all those 'I'm not even trying, it's not worth my while' antics

Mind you, made me laugh when he tried to sneak an underarm serve in to Liam, who - if nothing else - is one of the nippiest players on the tour. Didn't end well for Constant (who is anything but)

Good three set win

Liam the best Brit so far in Otto's path - time for a win over the Finnish flyer, I'd say

Nice easy win for Cash and Patten who - for some reason - were clear outsiders with bookies
