Wow! Ryan runs away with the first set 6-0. The crowd are purring. Mind you, Cerundolo hasn't turned up yet.

Ryan's on fire at the moment:  first set in the bag by 6-0 in just over 23 minutes!  biggrin    And to mix my metaphors a bit, the Argentine is all at sea on the grass!  wink

Looks as though Cerundolo has found his grass legs. He's just broken Ryan.

Don't let up, Ryan.

Neither player is playing at their absolute best but it looks as if Ryan's bagel made his concentration dip while it focused the Argentine's. Anyway that one break of serve is enough to take us to a final set. Come on, Ryan. You can still do this.Jan wrote:

Yes, perhaps the first time recently that Ryan has taken his eye off the ball as there was maybe a danger of feeling that he was not so much chasing and hungry for further glory but holding what he had.

Broken in the opening game of the decider.  I fear he's had it.  cry

It's like the commentary says Ryan's far too passive. If he doesn't stop playing safe here he can forget it.

Sadly his game looks a bit too lightweight to me for this level. Been a great week but I fear that this is where it stops.

Yes watching Ryan there certainly does seem a limit to his grass game, perhaps a wee bit of fortune not to come up against any top grass players yet. Cant see a way back now, still be a great experience and rankings lift all the same.

Obviously want Ryan to win, but whoever triumphs here will get some of the most scarcely deserved 45 ranking points in ATP history.
