The local paper is full of stories about Ryan, this one is particularly nice

I think that the "[sic]" after the tonnes was a little patronising!

If it's a quote how do they know it's wrong? Clearly it's just hyperbole so whatever measure he used would be acceptable

I dont think the (sic) was referring to metric vs imperial measures, just that the writer had never heard anyone use  ton(ne)s to mean much before.

Lee, it was Stircrazy that added the '(sic)' and she has explained her reason for doing so above.

yes, I read it in the later posts after I dived in too early :)

Well done Ryan, playing controlled and letting the opponent beat himself. Smart tennis.

Significant improvement in his level from Ryan today to something much more akin with the other matches of his I have seen over 2021 and 2022. Well done young man! Am particularly pleased because he would have been gutted if he had turned in a performance where he didnt do himself justice.

A more measured first set from Ryan today, but he still won it, by 6-4!  smile

Yes he seemed to raise it a level on the last 3 games of the set. Keep it going Ryan.

Not sure Bouncy's bosses would be too impressed with those comments.

Perhaps he can award Boris the prize when he wins the Wandsworth Closed Chps?

He's broke back in the last set just like yesterday, let's hope the other bit of history repeats itself and Ryan wins.
