Apologies for starting a new thread before a draw has been made. Hopefully format is correct, and someone can correct if not.

Looking online it appears as though qualifying this weekend is closed to the public?  This seems like an awful shame since it's always a great weekend with a mixture of some of the very the top names practicing on the outside courts and a few of the top Brits playing important ATP qualies matches (although a few less since it was upgraded to a 500 event)

Can any other regular attendees confirm it's behind closed doors this year, and has any reason been given for the decision? With minimal advertising it's never overly busy and the grounds can comfortably come with a couple hundred keen tennis fans trying to catch a bit of the action.

Sorry, Josh, but you missed the boat!  Have merged your post into mine.

Never take anything I say as Gospel josh but I think I read somewhere that the decision is a one off.  Some sort of preparations or building work that clashes with them being ready???

Yes, I was likewise disappointed. It was discussed on another general thread. I read that the extra bank holiday put preparations back so the grounds wouldn't be ready for the public.

Yes, imagine that extra bank holiday suddenly coming totally out of the blue so that they couldn't allow for it at all.

According to darts, Casper Ruud will be the top seed & Cam the third, while Dan E is in the main draw by right, Andy has an SE & Jack, Liam & Ryan have WCs.

Joe & Rajeev will be the top seeds in the doubles, Neal & Wesley the third, while Jamie & Bruno & Cam & Alex de Miñaur are in by right & Lloyd & Harri & Ken & Jonny O have WCs.  I feel a separate doubles thread coming on...

Harri's blog states that the wild card negotiations went right down to the wire and in return for half a doubles wild card for Queen's for Harri, the Helsinki Challenger later this year has agreed to give a singles wild card to a Brit.

See the penultimate paragraph of https://www.harriheliovaara.fi/2022/06/10/queens-club-atp500-paasarjan-villikortti-varmistui/ and thanks to big Lloyd & Harri fan @rellimj on Twitter for alerting me to this!

(N.B. in Finnish, kaksinpeli = 2-game = singles, i.e. two players on court, as opposed to nelinpeli = 4-game = doubles, i.e. 4 players on court)
