Week 24 - ATP 500 - Cinch Championships - The Queen's Club, London, Great Britain (grass)

Paul sadly couldnt do the business in the final set and goes down.

He has a Wimbledon wild card though, and hopefully will get to play qualies at Eastbourne next week now as well (assuming Jack D, Liam and Ryan would get main draw wildcards, ahead of Jay and Paul and Ali in qualies but hard to tell)

Ryan certainly not looking out of place at the moment.    If he can maintain his momentum, it'll be shock of the week - & surely a guaranteed WC for the Wimbledon main draw.

Paul now *0-2 in the decider.  Time to dig deep, lad...

Surely Ryan is 100% certain now? 2 top 100 wins on grass already, and beaten LTA future hope Draper. Now taken a set from a top 5 player.... I don't feel like many British wildcards have deserved it as much as he has over the grass period.

Yes, he is.  Lists have just been released & he has one!  biggrin

I'm only following live score, but Ryan is a fabulous situation. He leads the breaker 3-1 with his serve to come.

Ryan is going to be all over the press tomorrow!

Cam loses round one, Andy out with injury but Ryan and Jack D just step up!

Ryan does it!  When so many of us might think a Brit would bottle it, Ryan kept his head together.  Respect!!!

Cerundolo or Martinez next - that is not bad for a next match!

WHAT A WIN! Great composure to close that out. Really rate Ruud too, great sportsmanship in defeat.

Is this the best British WC win ever?? Can't think of any on this level during my tennis time.

Wasn't that fun?

Ryan and Ranah finished within a minute of each other - whoops of joy chez moi, that's for sure !

Ryan held his nerve so well, that wasn't easy, he was the better player overall, but to close it out....... great tie-breaks
