RE: Week 24 - ATP 500 - Cinch Championships - The Queen's Club, London, Great Britain (grass)

I hope that Ryan has a good agent who can cut some deals for him in the next days.  His 30k Euros will help him, but I hope that he can gain funding that will let him stop worrying about cash and will help take him the the next level.  And JonH, Cerundolo or Martinez is defintely a much easier match on paper, but if you beat the top seed in the first round,  you deserve some mild fortune.  Lets hope that Ryan can back up his big win with another great performance, we all know that this can be really hard.

The £50k for Wimbly main draw (minimum) plus the doubles will certainly help

But yes, hopefully the lean days are over

True re good fortune next up, lets hope he gets a day off tomorrow to come back down to earth.

Re the money, yes, and I hope Paul Jubb can follow him there sometime soon also. Ryan and Ali G both are in doubles at Wimbledon with wildcards, that will also help a little in the short term.

Not sure re Eastbourne yet and whether Ryan is best continuing to roll, I personally would, so I hope he gets a wild card there with Jack and Liam perhaps,

Ryan does it!  When so many of us might think a Brit would bottle it, Ryan kept his head together.  Respect!!!

Indeed, really well done !  biggrin

Not that I believe Brits bottle it any more than others.

The top half now looks like

Peniston v Cerundolo or Martinez
Brooksby or Krajinovic v Querrey

Draper v Ruusuvuori
Bublik v Cilic

Cilic will be salivating I suspect

Wow just catching up with todays results and watching the latest, this is a stunning win regardless of the lack of grass pedigree in Casper. Ryan is for sure a top 100 player in the making something that almost nobody would have predicted. Im sure I read an article or video interview on twitter last year where he said he hoped to become a top 200 player within the next year or two. He is now way ahead there. In his 27th year as well and probably the most unexpected rankings rise its really great to see. He deserves the financial security and probably earnings of circa 150k minimum between now and the end of the year and hopefully more.

Great stuff

Dan Evans still in the game but looking much like his is a lost cause up against that Berrettini serve 6-3, 4-3. Berretini two holds away from going through.

Dan looked good but Berrettini is just too good on grass. I agree with Jaggy, he could well win Wimbledon this year.

There are very few decent grass players at the top, although once you get to week 2 it plays like a hard court. But if the draw is difficult, it could be seeding carnage in week 1.

Yes if Berrettini doesnt reach at least the semis Id be extremely surprised. If anything hes only going to get better now hes match fit. Cant see any other winner than him here for sure.

I was meaning Wimbledon semis minimum. Foregone conclusion for me the title here for him given the remaining last 16 field.
