marvellous for Charlie, but wonder if Simon is not fit, given that scoreline?
And Dan Cox's win is definitely a win we will take, in our wins competition, Jaggy will be pleased to here
Gilles Simon said in his Roland Garros interviews that he routinely has to take 6 paracetemols and 4 iboprufen before each and every match. It's long-term chronic pain. They want to prescribe morphine but can't. My take - the obvious take - is Gilles, stop ! Go home ! Hang up your racket ! But for some reason he hasn't quite yet .....
But all credit to Charlie - given Gilles' issues this was always a very decent opportunity for an upset but when the pills work, he can still play some excellent tennis so he still needed beating
Anton takes the first set. When he's on this form he's so enjoyable to watch. A wide range of shots and he really takes it to his opponent. Hopefully he can keep this going.
Luca got well beaten - it's a huge ask for him at this level but all good experience, I guess
Anton Mat, though, put up a good show - just taken the first set of Hoang who most certainly has not been enjoying his grass tennis swing in the UK so far.....
Anton played a very good tie-break - but now to keep it up in the second set
Just as a reminder, Luca Pow is our junior U18 champion who has a Wimbledon quali wildcard so needs some practice matches on grass
He looked a bit lost here but baby steps. He hasn't had much practice against the adult opposition or probably on grass yet.Depends who he gets as for all the wcs
Hoang looks like he has given up and Anton looks as though he hasn't invested in new kit since last year
But grass suits him
Plays to his strengths - well done, Anton - and yes Hoang has been on a really bad run as of late - lost to Mark Whitehouse in Surbiton but barely won a game before that on clay either

I was sure I heard during French Open commentary that, like Tsonga, Gilles was hanging up his racket after that tournament?
I think Gilles said that it was his last Roland Garros - but not his last tournament - he was going to keep going this year (not sure until when - or why.....\0
