RE: Week 24 - ATP Challenger 125 - Ilkley Trophy - Ilkley, Great Britain (grass)

Despite that near meltdown in the first set (which threatened to happen again in the second - two breaks of service, two breaks back!), Charlie nevertheless manages to qualify:

FQR:  (qWC) Charles Broom WR 432 (= CH) defeated Jason Jung (TPE) WR 262 by 7-6(9) 6-4  jump.gif

Received for the match - and received it out nicely

Well done, Charlie - bet you give your coach stomach acid problems ....

Well done Charlie!! Does this mean there could be a WC for him into Wimbledon or have they already been dished out?

Dan C follows Charlie into the main draw:

FQR:  (qWC) Daniel Cox WR 505 defeated Antoine Bellier (SUI) WR 307 by 6-4 4-6 6-2  ban-woohoo.gif

Good stuff   biggrin

This will take Dan to 71 points so far and into the top 500. Unfortunately at the same time Anton will be dropping Nottingham 2 Challenger QF points from last year and he will fall out of the top 500. So we will remain with at best 17 in the top 500.

Zizou Bergs translates in my head to Jar Jar Binks too easily for comfort.

N.B.  Rankings updated.

Qualifiers placed & would you Adam & Eve it:

L32:  (Q) Charles Broom WR 432 vs (Q) Daniel Cox WR 505  rolleyes.gif

I suppose we're at least guaranteed a representative in the last 16.

Also will soon be dropping Wimbledon Qualifying points from last year as well which is his 2nd biggest score, bit of a slide down. Be interesting to see how he does in the M25's on grass.

I think Jajon means what on earth is going on on court ...... and Jajon, I've no idea ! I've got the match on but can't have the sound on and I've seen a LOT of disputed line calls etc - but what on earth was happening at 40-40 half-way through when Constant was sitting down and Arthur was at the end of the court and there seemed to be almost like a standoff for 5 mins - NO idea !

Played well too. But at 2-2 (i think) it went to deuce and then Lestienne just ran to his chair and sat down and refused to play? Then Fery started arguing with him or the umpire. Lestienne was then given a warning for delaying the game or something and then just carried on as normal? Very strange

Ah, now I see.  I was unable to comment, as I'm watching's Cam's match against Dimitrov at Queen's on BBC2 (with the cat curled up in the crook of my right arm wink ) & he's in trouble in the final set... hmm
