Wow just heard some of Bubliks disgusting comments during the first set. Repeatedly swearing and basically suggesting hes had carnal activity with Judy Murray.

What? How do these people come out with remarks like that with impunity?!!
I was looking at Andy's ranking points and I have to say the ATP make it very difficult to understand. Can anyone please explain why Andy has to include a mandatory zero counter for Roland Garros where he didn't play, but doesn't have to count last year's US Open where he lost in the first round?
im guessing but presumably he was high enough ranked for the FO to be in as of right if he had chosen to play and that high enough ranking made it mandatory. As Brendan F says, he wasnt high enough ranked for USO, he got a WC and as such that would mean it isnt mandatory?
I'd say partly right
Yes, re the French Open, Andy takes a mandatory 0 since he was ranked high enough for MD entry.
The issue with the US Open is not to do with WCs. Andy wasn't in on a WC anyway, and in normal times for mandatories all players who compete in MD R1, including WCs and qualifiers, have to count their scores, as say Manuel Guinard, WC into the French Open but R1 loser, with a 0 point mandatory counter ( Slam R1 losing WCs get 0 points as opposed to Andy's 10 from the US Open ).
Andy is not counting a US Open mandatory because last year the US Open wasn't a mandatory counter. I believe because of covid the ATP had no mandatory counting tournaments last year. Cam, who clearly was also a direct entry, also lost in the US Open R1 and doesn't have to count his resulting 10 points.

Its a bit rubbish that this tournament isnt on Amazon or Eurosport though. I wonder if any of them will pick up now its the business end of the tournament. Saw a clip of the break point he won which made it look like Andy of 2015 days. He looks so happy and pumped out there, you love to see it really
If Andy did somehow manage to win this tournament, which is think might be a step too far given Nick and Berretini, then he would probably be seeded for Wimbledon. Ranking would be around 37ish and given at least 4 or 5 of the top 32 will be absent he might sneak it.
No Zverev, Medvedev, Rublev and probably no Sinner and a couple other are struggling for fitness as well.
Would points gained at Queens also be added as well? Its an astonishing story to see him back possibly top 32 at Wimbledon. One thing for sure if he's not seeded every other seed would be keen to avoid him in the early rounds.
