Week 24 - LTA Wimbledon Wild Card Play-Offs - Aorangi Park, London, Great Britain (grass)

Hopefully those on the rise up the rankings manage to win versus the part-timers.

Madaman, great job - we have some good google sleuths on this site !

The seeds (1) and (3) matches are all in one line so that must be one half of the draw.

And the (2) and (4) in the other

Nice to see Finn Bass back on a British tennis court

No room for Louis Bowden, which is a slight surprise

But Lui gets a youngster's sport

Generally, a lot stronger than the women's ....

good work also re the draw structure...can we guess the other matches on the same line are also in the half of those seeds? Or would that be too obvious a thing to do!!

Allegedly Finn playing County Cup at Eastbourne this year - cant remember the last time he played for them.

Yes, he's still on the list - to play Henry Bowden (who, I assume, is Louis' brother?)

But presumably he'll be withdrawing now

Mind you, I'd still wander down - I know you're a Lui fan but there's some very good youngsters playing - Luca Pow would obviously be top of most people's lists to cast an eye over - given he's our U18 champion and playing Wimbly qualis next week. Big names in the girls too.

It's great to see the draw but does anyone know the schedule, in particular the start of play? Thank you.

Look at Madadman's post earlier on - he's put up the picture of the schedule with the start of play for all the courts etc

Alexis, GB ranked 40, is the final DE.

Clearly there are many more Brits with ATP rankings than with WTA ones.

But compared to our women where 22 of our 43 ranked players are not involved in the Wimbledon process at all and there are not enough left to cover 11 play-offs DE spots:

24 of our top 40 ATP ranked men are involved ( ie. Wimbledon MD DE, MD WC, Q WC or Q WC play-offs DE ) and 16 are not but are ranked higher than Alexis.

So they would be the ALTs, so to speak, if one of the players can't play today?

Looking at the order of play, Court 17 seems to have the best schedule in terms of names

competitions.lta.org.uk/tournament/08548C1C-A746-41D3-AECB-9FB4886C7467/matches

I don't know how Aorangi is organised and, I think I am right, it is no spectators isnt it? Does anyone know if it is streamed at all and are they using Court 17 as the streaming court, or are there in fact spectators?

It hasn't been streamed in the past as far as I know, and no spectators allowed other than guests and coaches

yeah, that is what I thought/had guessed from the various comments.

I am guessing we are going to have to go blind on this event then and see what news pops out to us afficionados!!
