Mark Whitehouse is in qualies as a late alt. Plays Monteiro after Nishioka withdrew

QR1:  (q7) Mikael Ymer (SWE) WR 90 defeated (ALT) Alastair Gray WR 284 by 6-7(6) 7-5 7-6(3)  hmm

What a pity that he couldn't capitalise on his opportunity at*5-2 in the second set.  cry

 Is Gaston mercurial?

He certainly likes a crowd. He likes it on his terms. He doesn't like to look an idiot, goes in for am-dram and rather French disdain, doesn't like grass either, not surprised that he really wasn't up for any sort of fight today. Was probably upset that his breakfast coffee was the wrong temperature or whatever....

Oh well, he's toast now anyway.

Well that helps us, but for Gaston that sort of attitude is hardly likely to bring home the bacon.

Oh gawd, this is starting to mushroom.

Presumably Paul lost? He was heading down.

I've known Gaston since he was a kid but he's never been my cup of tea

Unfortunately, yes. He had a few chances to break in the final game - Johnson served two consecutive double failts - but he couldn't make it.

But sooner or later, one of 'em's going to end up with egg on his/her face.
