Is anyone else struggling to muster their usual levels of enthusiasm for British wildcard first round matches? Guess it just shows that a shot at a healthy slug of ranking points which can help them kick-on is something that piques my interest in those who otherwise dont have a realistic shot at making the second week.
You are not alone as I feel the same.
Yes, the pre-Wimbledon events were far more intriguing this year for that very reason (it's usually the other way round)
I have been keeping up my interest by taking the view that the more rounds these WCs win the more money they get and this can usefully be spent on keeping them on the road with coaches, fitness trainers etc.
TA forecast that Djoko will take the title over Berretini.
In terms of Brits:
Andy, Cam, Ryan, Dan are forecast to win their opening matches - so, 4 wins like the women's side. The percentages suggest 4.6 wins in fact, could argue that is closer to 5!
Dan is rated as the most likely winner with 0.8% chance, Andy is 0.7% and Cam is 0.6%
Andy and Cam are both forecast for the last 16 ,Dan for the last 32. So that would give us 9 wins overall in the mens singles, added to 4 in the womens - 13 overall.
I suspect many of us think there is more chance of wins than TA is forecasting, sorry Jeff, I hope you are proven wrong!!!
Bookies' odds were a fair bit more optimistic when I checked them on Sunday afternoon. Implied R1 win probabilities as follows:
94%
Cameron - 88% on TA
79%
Andy - 84% on TA
76%
Dan - 81% on TA
76%
Ryan - 73.5% on TA
73%
Jack - 34% on TA (big difference!)
62%
Liam - 48% on TA
53%
Jay - 27% on TA (quite a big difference!)
47%
Alastair - 19% on TA
11%
Paul - 13% on TA
Interesting to compare - here are the bookies odds with TA's forecast against them in your table above.
It looks like Jay, Jack, Ali and Liam are much higher rated by the bookies. Presumably that is a home town advantage thing going on which TA probably wouldnt build into their algorithm?

andy and Cam both through; Jay looks like losing which will be a tick to TA over the bookies.
In round 2 , Andy v Isner is interesting , 8-0 h2h record but Isner served 54 aces round one. Fancy Andy really but always tough versus Isner. Bound to be on centre.
Cam v Munar should be a comfortable win for Cam, really.
I see Djoko has Kokkinakis as well, anyone with centre court tickets on Wednesday should be in for a good day.
If you're going to Wimbledon and drink a hot drink, take a cup with you, they're adding a £1 onto the price for a reusable cup that doesn't materialise if you order a flat white!!!
Today will be epic. Re Kerber over Cam, doesn't Court 1 always have 2 Ladies, 1 Mens match 1st round, plus Kerber is an ex champion so pretty disrespectful to her and finally I personally was much happier watching Alcaraz than I would've been Norrie.
